Mitch Churi Has Revealed That He’s Tested Positive For Covid-19

The KIIS FM radio host, who fronts the popular Mitch ’til Midnight program, shared a screenshot of his notification from NSW to Stories on Monday.

It stated that the 25-year-old’s PCR test had come back positive for the virus.

In a second Instagram Stories post, this time a video, Mitch shared his home antigen test – which had earlier returned a negative result.

Filming his wilting tree, Mitch hung the test on one of the branches like a bauble.

Zooming in, he showed his fans that there was no line alongside the ‘positive’ portion of the test window.

Mitch joked in his caption on the clip: ‘This aged poorly’.

It is unclear when Mitch originally took the home test, and at what stage in his infection he took the PCR test.

Rapid home antigen tests are very accurate – returning the correct result as much as 85 to 90 per cent of the time.

They are much quicker, returning results in 10 to 15 minutes, and can be done at home.

However, they are nowhere near as accurate as PCR tests, and can be subject to user error.

PCR tests, which stands for polymerase chain reaction, require a nasal swab which is then sent to a laboratory where a technician runs the test.
